THE REVIEW
first off the 4k tv i tested is not a high end 4k tv so results will probbibly be better on a top tier tv, however i think in terms of resolution alone results should be identicle.
4K PORN IS......OK!
the sharper resolution deffinetly makes a more detailed sharper picture, you will notice the difference..... this is a blessing and a curse, you do notice blemeshes on peoples skin/stretchmarks a littlebit more but these dont bother me and i think its all part of beauty, but some people might not like this. The better colour on the screen is also nice for skin tones etc etc it is slightly more pleasing on the eyes, but on the whole its not a drastic change. And unfortunetly 4k porn comes with a heft downside...... FILE SIZES your tipical 1080p full length porno is about 1-3 gigs.... in 4k its 5-15. This makes it increadibly inpractical as it takes up loads of space, takes ages to download and for only a subtle increase in visuals. However for favourite scenes i would say its worth it, but in general not really, unless you stream it.
In conclusion should you upgrade to a 4k tv if you can affored it? well for films....sort of the difference is marginal however, for gameing and porn the difference it is noticable....... however it is subtle, is it a game changer? deffinetly not 1080p is far more than enough, its a nice thing to have but not needed. I Dont think it is a fad however, 4k is not going anywhere and its going to become the norm for gameing, i think it does however need internet speeds, file storage and cost of entry to catch up.
