I could suggest a classic like Cowboy Bebop which was ahead of it's time when it released back in '98 I think. And its not too long of a series either since its only about 26 episodes, so you wouldn't have to invest so much time into it.

Cowboy bebop and samurai champloo are best classics, i still haven't seen it,currently watching one piece after that will watch it.
