Hello! I'm a new member and I would like to share my thoughts bc I still can't crack anything ;-;. Also, bear with me, this is my first thread so I don't really know what to write but I'm trying my best.
Let's start with, I L O V E Korean Music. Although, K-pop is an exception. You see, I find it hard to vibe with K-pop even though I have nothing against it. Maybe because it's too mainstream and my preference is "underrated"; also maybe because of the fanbase, they can be toxic sometimes. Please don't hate me for it though, my taste is completely subjective after all.
So if K-pop is not good, then what is good? And what makes them good?
It's the K-RNB and K-Rap, that's where the good sh*ts are. For me, what makes K-RNB and K-Rap good is because of their own unique and distinct sound. Even if they're singing in english, you just know it's Korean Music (and no, it's not because of their accent, they're surprisingly fluent). Another reason is the musicality and instrumentals of their songs. The way they intigrate their chord progressions, and their choice of sounds and instruments are very different compared to the Western style. It's hard to explain how good they are; so instead of telling, why don't we listen?
(I'll only give one song for every artist, because if I don't, the list will be too long)
Here are my recomendations:
In any order
1. DEAN - love (https://youtu.be/JEIcjRj7S9g)
2. Jay Park - 2nd Thots (https://youtu.be/FbFDg3G3R3w)
3. Zico - Any Song (https://youtu.be/UuV2BmJ1p_I)
4. DPR Live - Legacy (https://youtu.be/cZGMbmYNkWI)
5. Crush - none (https://youtu.be/ywOFgvlGbTM)
6. Kris Wu - November Rain (https://youtu.be/Nnx7mFZ3U4A)
7. 2xxx! - Piss on Me (https://youtu.be/wLrVX2GIrNg)
8. Colde - Your Dog Loves You (https://youtu.be/WybG8FesMc8)
9. Sam Kim - Make Up (https://youtu.be/r1iFxWW_WjY)
10. LambC - Love Like That (https://youtu.be/NjnH6GKgmsM)
Special Section!
I just want to give one final recommendation. Please watch the Music Video of "DPR Live - Legacy" and "DPR Live - Kiss Me + Neon", the visuals are just out of this world (pun intended), and it's soo good that it looks like a movie. It's so good that it's hard to keep silent about it.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my recommendations! That's all for my first thread.
